Alan Wade Payne, a dedicated and selfless individual, passed away on June 16, 2024 in Kemp, Texas. Born on January 18, 1958, in Dallas, Texas, Alan led a remarkable life filled with service and love for those around him. Alan's professional journey was marked by dedication and commitment. With over 20 years of service as an Engineer Supervisor in the IT Department at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas, he showcased his skills and passion for technology. He later transitioned to Harvey's Exxon in Kemp, Texas, where he spent over 21 years with great pride. His work ethic and expertise left a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
His academic achievements included graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas, Texas, as part of the Class of 1976. Alan's thirst for knowledge extended beyond his formal education as he stayed up with the latest technological advancements throughout his career.
A proud veteran, Alan served in the United States Navy. His commitment to serving his country was just one example of his unwavering dedication to others. In addition to his professional and military accomplishments, Alan found joy in hobbies such as collecting vintage coins and exploring various aspects of history. Described as sociable and well-informed by those who knew him best, Alan's warm personality endeared him to many in the community. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and genuine interest in the well-being of others.
Alan Wade Payne is survived by his beloved mother, Essie Shell; daughters, Alason Payne and Anna Payne alongside their mother Bonnie Payne; stepchildren, Aaron Anguiano and Ashley Anguiano; four brothers: Joey Jones, Randel Payne, Arnis Jr. Payne, and Marc Payne; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Arnis W. Payne and stepmother, Hazel; stepfather, Joe Shell; brothers, Steven and Wayne Jones; nephew, Jason Payne; uncles, Bill Smith and Mynard Smith along with their respective spouses Jean and Rose.
A memorial service to celebrate Alan's life will be held on June 24, 2024 at Anderson-Clayton Bros. Funeral Home in Kemp, Texas. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
