It is with sorrow in the flesh and praise in the spirit, that we announce the passing of (Annie) Laurie McBroom who went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 13, 2024, at the age of 89. Laurie was born on August 29, 1935, to Johnnie R. Berry and Amelia Hughes.
Laurie was married to Joe McBroom on June 22, 1983. Joe preceded her in death on June 3, 1997. She is survived by her son, Robby Neyland and his wife, Lisa; daughter Leah Kent and husband, Rob; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, along with numerous nephews and nieces.
Laurie was a long-time member of Legendary Baptist Church in Gun Barrell City before moving to Eastland, Texas with her son and daughter-in-law, and becoming a member of the First Baptist Church, Ranger, Texas.
She loved to go hunting and fishing with the love of her life, Joe. Her hobby was the love of writing poetry. She loved reading her Bible daily until her eyesight deteriorated to a point where she was unable to see to read.
The family request that in lieu of flowers to make donations to: First Baptist Church Ranger, P.O. Box 144, Ranger, Texas 76470.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Anderson-Clayton Brothers Funeral Home located in Kemp, Texas. A celebration of her life will be Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at 11:00. Interment follows at King Cemetery.
