With heavy hearts, we mourn the passing of Barbara Jean (Collins) Gurganious, a beloved soul who graced this world with her presence for 71 years. On May 11, 2024, in Kaufman, Texas, Barbara bid farewell, leaving behind a legacy etched in love and cherished memories.
Born on June 20, 1952, in Princeton, Indiana, Barbara was the embodiment of warmth and humility, traits that endeared her to all who knew her. She possessed a quiet grace, speaking volumes through her actions rather than her words. Her zest for life was palpable, illuminating every corner of her existence with its radiant glow.
Barbara's passions painted a colorful canvas of her vibrant spirit. Whether she was trying her luck at the slot machines or indulging in a friendly card game, her enthusiasm was contagious. Her collection of knickknacks bore testimony to her eclectic tastes, each piece a reflection of her curious and adventurous soul. An avid reader, she found solace within the pages of Stephen King's novels, immersing herself in worlds crafted from ink and imagination. And her creative flair knew no bounds, expressed through her love for crafting and painting.
In her journey through life, Barbara was surrounded by a loving circle of family and friends, their unwavering support a source of comfort and strength. Her memory will be cherished by her surviving family members who will forever hold her close in their hearts.
She is survived by her sons, Daryl Powell and wife Lisa of Gulfport, Mississippi, and Terry Powell and wife Tina of Kemp, Texas, who lovingly shared in her joys and sorrows. Her grandsons, Daryl Powell Jr., Ryan Powell, Kyle Powell, Trevor Powell, and Bryce Powell, along with granddaughters, Hailey Powell and Julianne Powell, were the apples of her eye, their laughter echoing through her cherished memories. Her great-grandsons, Jude Powell and Lucas Powell, brought her boundless joy and endless smiles.
Barbara's brothers, Mike Collins and wife Linda of Petersburg, Indiana, and Randy Collins of Texas, stood by her side through thick and thin, their bond unbreakable and their love unwavering.
Though she may have left this earthly realm, Barbara's spirit lives on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Though words may falter in the face of such profound loss, our hearts speak volumes as we bid farewell to a remarkable woman who touched our lives in more ways than we can express. Rest in peace, dear Barbara, knowing that you are deeply loved and eternally remembered.
