Craig Thornton

Craig Thornton, a beloved father, brother, grandfather, has left an indelible mark on those who were fortunate to know him. Born on April 19, 1955, in Dallas, Texas, Craig was a man of integrity and unwavering dedication. With the passing of Craig on February 10, 2024, we bid farewell to a remarkable soul who touched the hearts of many.

From his early years, Craig harbored a deep passion for working with his hands as a skilled carpenter. With time, Craig transitioned into becoming a truck driver—a career that allowed him to explore new horizons and embrace the beauty of the open road.

While Craig's professional accomplishments defined him in the eyes of many, it is his personal qualities that truly set him apart. He possessed an immeasurable love for music and spent countless hours strumming on his guitar. Whether he was surrounded by loved ones or engulfed in solitude, music became his constant companion—an expression of his innermost thoughts and emotions.

Craig's genuine kindness touched the lives of numerous individuals throughout his journey. His soothing presence provided comfort to those in need, offering solace during times of sorrow and celebration during moments of joy. No matter the circumstance, Craig lent an empathetic ear and offered sage advice that stemmed from a wealth of life experiences. Those fortunate enough to call him friend found themselves enveloped in warmth and understanding.

In the hearts of his surviving family members—Diana Horn; son Jeremy Thornton; daughters Kelli Thornton and Susan Thornton; granddaughter Allyssa Villalon and husband Eduardo Villarruel; granddaughter Alexandria Thornton; grandson Michael Villalon; great-grandson Leo Villarruel—Craig's memory will forever remain a beacon of love and inspiration. The bond he shared with his family was undeniable, and their lives were enriched by his unwavering presence.

Craig is preceded in death by his father, James Thornton, and mother, Marie Stites, also his father-in-law Clyde "Doc" Horn and mother-in-law Mary Horn.

Among the family circle were Craig's brothers, Dane Thornton with his wife Debbie and Jerry Thornton along with his wife Lisa. Their shared experiences formed an unbreakable bond that spanned a lifetime. In addition to his immediate family, Craig leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will carry on his legacy through their own unique paths.

In memory of our dear Craig Thornton—we find solace in knowing that he now rests peacefully. May the memories he created continue to inspire us all as we strive to live our lives fully and honor his everlasting legacy.
