Billy Ray Hosch was born to Ottis Glen Hosch and Georgie Dale Hoover on December 29, 1948, in Athens, Texas. He attended Athens ISD and later met the love of his life, his wife Jean Ann McDougald in Kemp, Texas in 1969. They got married after dating for 6 weeks and were married for 55 years.
Billy worked as a Sales Manager for Dr. Pepper and Harry's Fountain Supply in Dallas-Fort Worth. Later, he owned and operated Bill's Fina in Kemp, TX, before retiring from the Texas Department of Transportation in Kaufman after 28 years.
Billy had a variety of hobbies and interests, including working in the yard, scouring flea markets and garage sales for hidden treasures, dancing with Jean at their favorite places Lee's Silver Fox and Southern Junction, picking up as he called it "good stuff" off the side of the highway, going on cruises, and traveling. Billy and Jean traveled to 49 out of the 50 states during their years of travel.
Together, Billy and Jean had two children: Son Rodney D. Hosch of Kemp, TX and Daughter Holli R. Hosch Calvin of Kemp, TX.
Billy and Jean's greatest joy in life was their five grandchildren. Billy loved them dearly and would always find a way to mention them in conversations. He believed that there was no such thing as bragging too much about one's family and wanted everyone to know how much he loved them.
