In Loving Memory of Deanna Barton Reed May 1, 1967 – February 15, 2025 With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Deanna “Dea” Barton Reed, who left this world on February 15, 2025. She was born in Tampa Bay, Florida, to Donald and Judy Barton and made her home in Lively, Texas, alongside her loving husband, Alex Reed, and her faithful companion, Cowgirl. Dea was an amazing mother who loved her children fiercely and unconditionally. She was their greatest supporter, protector, and role model. She instilled strength, kindness, and resilience in each of them, always reminding them to chase their dreams and cherish every moment. Her love was endless, and her family was her greatest joy. She is survived by her beloved husband, Alex Reed; her parents, Donald and Judy Barton; and her cherished children: • Drew Presley • Shawna Meaño and husband Jorge • Lucas Hyde and wife Chasity • Ashley Short and husband CJ • Shelby Reed She is also survived by her siblings: • Lisa Wilson and husband Rodney • Larry Barton and wife Chel Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Jordan, Drew, Michelangelo, BerylDea, BrynzLea, ShaReef, Bodie, Bryson, Sawyer, and Chandler. A devoted teacher for many years, Dea touched the hearts of thousands of students, leaving a lasting impact on every life she encountered. She had a radiant, joyful spirit—fun-loving, outgoing, and always ready to bring laughter to those around her. She loved watching crime shows, reading James Patterson novels, traveling, and soaking up the sun. Dea found beauty in old barns, churches, and historic homes, always appreciating the stories they held. Her favorite saying was “Don’t Blink,” a reminder to cherish every moment.
