Doris June Baxter, of Kemp, Texas, passed away on December 26, 2024, at the age of 78. Doris was born on October 26,1946, in Altus, Oklahoma, to parents Elmer and Vivian (Parrish) Hudgens.
Doris dedicated a significant portion of her career to Marmon Motors/Gamco, where she was highly regarded for her commitment and work ethic. Doris found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as plastic canvas/cross stitch, word searches, along with watching “Murder She Wrote”, as she was a fan of Jessica Fletcher. Doris also enjoyed the music of Elvis Presley. She had a keen interest in fast cars, particularly her beloved El Camino earning her the CB handle "Oklahoma Lady". Doris took profound pride in her family, especially in her marriage to her late husband, Michael Baxter, with whom she shared a deep and loving partnership. Together, they raised two children, fostering a home filled with warmth and support.
Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Michael Wayne Baxter; and her parents, Elmer and Vivian Hudgens.
She is survived by her children, Vickie Henry & husband Mike, and Robby Joe Baxter & wife Allie; grandson, Rusty Henry & wife Ashley; one great granddaughter, Emma June Henry.
Doris June Baxter's spirit will live on in the memories and hearts of those she touched throughout her life. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, who will remember her for her warmth, kindness, and passionate interests.
