Edna Mae Smith, 89, passed away on June 13, 2023, in Kemp, Texas. Edna was born in Haskell Texas, on February 5, 1934, to Harry and Mattie (Craver) Womble.

Edna married her husband and best friend, Winnon Smith on August 11, 1951, in Kaufman, Texas. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, and made a career as a typesetter. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Edna is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Winnon Smith; their son, Lonnie Ray Smith; her parents, Harry and Mattie Womble; and her sisters, Billie Lee Price and Betty Lou Derrington.

She is survived by two children, Jodie Haigood and husband Tom of Kemp, Texas and Bennie Smith of the Marshall Islands; her grandchildren, Rebekah and Jeremy Weddell of Scurry, Texas, Aaron and Katy Haigood of Trenton, Illinois, Brandon and Jessica Haigood of Kemp, Texas, Katie and John Frye of Kemp, Texas; great-grandchildren, Jostyn, Jace, Jensen, Max, Lisa, Kelci, Allen, Marshall, Harli and Keelan, many nieces and nephews, as well as extended family and friends.
