Jackie Louise Downing

Jackie Louise Downing passed away on April 11, 2022, at the age of 92, in Malakoff, Texas surrounded by her loved ones. She was born August 14, 1929, in Mabank, Van Zandt County, Texas to Russell Leroy and Edith Jane (Bones) Higginbotham.

Jackie enjoyed sewing, crocheting, fishing, baking and above all spending time with her family who she loved and adored. Jackie had a strong passion for helping others, after retiring as a Licensed Vocational Nurse she chose to share her gift of cooking and baking by preparing and serving lunch at church for the Rotary Club. Ms. Downing was faithful and willing worker at her local church.

Jackie leaves behind many loved ones to carry on her memories including her three daughters Barbara Massey of Kaufman, Texas, Donna Thompson of Denton, Texas, and Brenda Forrest of Malakoff, Texas; grandchildren Wendi Bishop and Jason of Kilgore, Texas, Linda Manning and Michael of Kentucky, Brian Rawlins and Joey of Brock, Texas, Brandy Wright and Brian of Kemp, Texas, Kevin Manning of Kaufman, Texas, Billy Manning of Kaufman, Texas, Carolyn Nieto of Kaufman, Texas, Brittany Garcia of Gun Barrel, Texas and Hannah Rawlins of Waco, Texas, twenty-six great grandchildren, sixteen great-great grandchildren.

Jackie is preceded in death by her parents; her three sisters Estalea Splawn, Merlene Baker, and Imogene Baker; grandson Rusty Massey, granddaughter Jamie Manning;  and great-grandson Zach Rawlins.
