Katharenia Ann Cook-Galbraith

Katharenia Ann Cook-Galbraith, 60, passed away on September 20, 2024, in Tool, Texas. She was born on January 12, 1964, in Dallas, Texas to parents Joe D. and Nelda A. (Gibbons) Cook.

Katharenia spent many years as a substitute teacher, where she shared her love of learning with the children in her community. She brought her passion for learning into the lives of her students, leaving a lasting impact on many. However, her heart truly belonged to her own children, whom she loved and lived for wholeheartedly.

In addition to her role as a mother and educator, Katharenia enjoyed a variety of activities that brought her joy. She loved spending time out on the boat with her husband, Dave, enjoying the peacefulness of the water and the beauty of nature around them. Their time together created cherished memories that she held dear. Katharenia also had a wonderful sense of fun and loved the simple pleasures in life. She could be found enjoying a movie night or indulging in a girls' day with her bestie, Tena, which always brought laughter and warmth.

When it came to downtime, Katharenia enjoyed watching beloved TV shows like Golden Girls, Reba, and Everybody Loves Raymond, often finding joy and comfort in their familiar stories. Music also played a big part in her life, as she was often found listening to the timeless tunes of Elvis, Fleetwood Mac, and George Strait, each song evoking cherished memories and feelings.

Katharenia was a loving mother, a devoted wife, and a caring friend who will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her. 

Katharenia is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Nelda Cook. 

Katharenia is survived by her loving husband, Dave Galbraith of Tool, Texas; daughter, Kara Brianna Botschon of Austin, Texas; daughter, Kallie Ann Zmolik and husband Caleb of Ennis, Texas; daughter, Jessica Crase of Dallas, Texas; stepdaughter, Shelby Durbin and husband Brandon of Biloxi, Mississippi; grandchildren Izabella and Tyler of Biloxi, Mississippi; brother, Joe S. Cook and wife Colleen of Dallas, Texas; brother, Bradford Cook of Hillsboro, Texas; brother, David Cook and wife Wendy of Corsicana, Texas; and her bestie, Tena Duke of Ennis, Texas, as well as many other extended family and friends.
