Lonnie Joe Peoples

Lonnie Joe Peoples of Kemp, Texas, born on November 3, 1945, departed this world on January 7, 2025, at the age of 79 in Dallas, Texas.

Throughout his life, Lonnie spent his free time at church and making memories with his family. His hobbies included fishing and watching western shows. Lonnie developed a profound appreciation for the world around him. He was often the happiest sitting in his rocking chair on the front porch drinking coffee with the love of his life and wife of 31 years, Delores Peoples, his children, and grandchildren. They will forever carry with them the lessons he imparted and the laughter they shared, memories enriched by the depth of his love.

Lonnie is preceded in death by his parents; daughter and son-in-law Vickie & James Butler; sister, Brenda Kay Cannon; and his late wife, Sammye Lynette Peoples.

Lonnie is survived by his wife, Delores Peoples; Son, Shawn & Shannon Peoples; stepson, Rick Westbrook; Grandchildren, Randi & Jodi Farrell, Mike and Kimberly Moore, Bo & Ashley Westbrook, Samantha Massey & Randy Stanley, and Cristi & Dusty Couch; eleven great grandchildren; siblings, Jack & Joan Peoples, Aline Cannon, Sue & Bill Emory, James Earl “Bo” & Mary Cannon, and Jerry Cannon.
