Mamie Ruth Greenhaw, 89, of Kemp, was born on December 5, 1934 in Vinson, Oklahoma to Floyd and Euna Lee Pittman. She was one of 11 children. She passed away on December 8, 2023.
Ruth graduated from Vinson High School in a class of 7. She married the love of her life, L.D. Greenhaw in 1954. They went on to have 3 children, David, Bobby Dee, and Brenda. She led a full life with family being the most important to her. She loved her Primitive Baptist family, quilting and crafts, cooking for her family, and the occasional opportunity to sing with her brother and sisters.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Euna Pittman, first husband L.D. Greenhaw. Brothers and sisters, TJ Pittman, Edward Pittman, Lora Mae Sexton, Armon Pittman, Spencer Pittman, Mattie Lee West, Jerry Pittman, and Lois Williams, and second husband WE “Bill” Ketron.
She is survived by her three children, David Greenhaw and friend Sheila, of Kemp, Bobby and Belinda Greenhaw of Kemp, and Brenda and Paul Lowe of Leesburg; Grandchildren Brandon Greenhaw and wife, Brandi of Kemp, Amy Jenkins of Kemp, Bobbie Sims and husband Trey of Ennis, Matt Lowe and wife Morgan, of Forney, Lindsay Allen and husband Jacob of Forney, and Jessica Ward and husband Brandon of Midlothian. Great grandkids Taryn, Amaya, Jacey, Tyson, Levi, TJ, Maelee, Brandon, Cole, Chase, Jordyn, Tyler, Peyton, Summer, Ariah, Zion, Eli and Weston. She is also survived by her husband, Leroy Buchheit and sisters Mary Eshom and Clara Bunch and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Brandon Greenhaw, Matt Lowe, Tyson Jenkins, Trey Sims, Jeff Brown, and Randy Greenhaw.
Services will be at Anderson Clayton Funeral Home in Kemp. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 11th from 6 pm to 8 pm. Services will be Tuesday, December 12th at 10 am followed by interment at King Cemetery.
