Marcus Dee Chapman

Marcus Dee Chapman, age 70, of Athens, TX, passed away peacefully on April 3rd, 2023, in Tyler, TX.

Marcus was born in Greenville, TX, to parents Francis Dee and Ruth (Kemp) Chapman. On July 12th, 1991, he married Jeanne Chapman, in Las Vegas.

Marcus was always the life of the party anytime he showed up somewhere. He was very outgoing, never met a stranger, and was well liked and loved by everyone who was fortunate enough to meet him. Marcus also had several hobbies- gardening, fishing, and remodeling old furniture were just a few of them. Mr. Chapman also built himself a smokehouse and could be found throughout the year riding his tractor and feeding the wild deer and fish around the property.

Marcus is preceded in death by his parents; Francis Dee and Ruth (Kemp) Chapman.

Surviving to cherish Mr. Chapman’s memories are his wife, Jeanne Chapman of Athens, TX; his three sons; Richard Bryan and wife Shawna of Brownsboro, TX, Clint and wife Katie Tucker of Fischer, TX, and Aaron Dee and wife Jenna Chapman of Corpus Christi, TX; his daughter, Deidra and husband Jerry Ray Davis of Lampassas, TX; sister, Vicki and husband Paul Myford of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Richard, Kailey, Jonathan, Taylor, Tanner Dee, Shyanne Jennings, Shayden Jennings and wife Hadley; and great-grandchildren, Tatum, Katie, and Kelly, as well as numerous other friends and family.
