Michael Dennis Kent, age 58, passed away on December 3, 2022, at his home in Kemp, TX, surrounded by his family. He was born on October 22, 1964, in Dallas, TX to parents Alfred and Nancy (Castle) Kent.

Michael married Eva, the love of his life for 24 years, and they settled in Kemp, TX, where they raised their beloved daughters, Sarah and Allison.  He enjoyed a career as a painting contractor in the construction industry for many years.   

Michael enjoyed watching NASCAR, and he really loved watching football, whether it was high school, college, or the NFL. He had such knowledge and passion for football that he easily could have been a referee or commentator. Michael was also a huge fan of sci-fi movies and tv shows (Star Trek was his favorite) and loved monster movies just like his mama.

Michael had a very large collection of knives, swords, and various die-cast models including cars, motorcycles, and NASCAR stock cars. Michael was saved and baptized before he passed, we can all take solace knowing that he will spend eternity in Heaven with the Lord. Michael will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Michael is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; his mother, Nancy Kent; cousin, Peggy Bachelor; and his uncle, Johnny Glass.

Surviving to cherish Michael’s memory are his father, Dennis Kent of Kemp, TX; wife, Eva Kent of Kemp, TX; two daughters, Sarah and Allison Kent of Kemp, TX; brothers: Scott and wife Lori Kent of Montalba, TX, and Rob and wife Leah Kent of Tiki Island, TX; sister-in-law: Pamala Clark of Payne Springs, TX; niece, Cora and husband Javier Rodriguez; nephews, Flint Clark, Michael Crutcher, and Robert and wife Kristy Crutcher; great-niece, Catherine Clark; great-nephews, Liam Rodriguez, Ethyn Rodriguez, Corbin Crutcher, and Ryan Crutcher; aunts, Sharon Saul of Keller, TX, Martha Castle of Nowata, OK, Donna and husband Marvin Penrod of Nowata, OK, and Wanda Glass of Bristol, TX; uncle, Dwain and wife Karen Kent of Bristol, TX; along with numerous other extended family members and friends.

 

A Celebration of Life will be hosted by the family at their residence immediately following the burial.
