Richard Gonzales, a man whose hands could work wonders with a wrench and whose heart overflowed with love for his family, bid farewell to this world on August 7, 2024, in Kemp, Texas, born on November 12, 1958, in the bustling city of Dallas, Texas to Thomas Gonzales and Isabel Sifuentes.
Richard's early years were shaped by hard work and determination. His passion for mechanics was evident to all who saw him at work, his hands moving with precision and skill as he delved into the engines that fueled his professional life. He was a dedicated Auto Mechanic with a fervor for all things automotive, as well as a staunch advocate for GM (General Motors), leaving a lasting impact on those who knew him. Aside from his career achievements, Richard will be most fondly remembered as a very loving and determined father. His children were very important to him. His presence in their lives was that of a guiding light, always ready with a joke to lift their spirits and a steady hand to lead them through life's challenges. Richard could light up a room; he was known as a jokester, always quick with a witty remark or a playful prank. His laughter was infectious, and his humor brought smiles to the faces of all who had the privilege of knowing him. In his leisure time, Richard found peace in his hobbies and interests. He enjoyed nothing more than working on mechanics, a skill that brought him both joy and fulfillment. When not tinkering under the hood of a car, he could be found spending quality time with his family, cherishing each moment spent together. Additionally, he had a soft spot for watching westerns, finding comfort in the tales of cowboys and the rugged landscapes of the Old West.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Isabel Gonzales, and his longtime companion, Sandra Pompa;
Those left to cherish his memories include sons, Richard T. Gonzales & wife, Christy of Greenville, Texas, Jesse Gonzales of Dallas, Texas, and Francisco Gonzales of Dallas, Texas; (step) children, Tisha McDowell of Keller Texas, Vanessa Pompa of Melissa, Texas, and Jared Pompa of McKinney, Texas; 7 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.
As we bid farewell to Richard Gonzales, we celebrate a life well-lived, a legacy of love, laughter, and hard work. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends, a testament to the man who touched so many lives with his presence.
