Roger Franklin Hatton

Roger Franklin Hatton, of Kemp, Texas, passed away on December 18, 2024, at the age of 90. Roger was born on December 25, 1933, in Trinidad, Texas,  to parents Clifton and Lela (Baucom) Hatton.

Roger led a life marked by dedication to his family, career, and country. A proud veteran, Roger served in the Air Force during the Korean War, achieving the rank of Airman 1st Class. His military service is a testament to his commitment to his country, and it reflects the strong values of honor and courage that he carried throughout his life. Roger had a distinguished career at Proctor and Gamble, where he dedicated 38 years of loyal service before retiring in 1990. His work ethic was a hallmark of his character, a virtue he instilled in his grandson, ensuring that the values of hard work and integrity would be passed down through generations.  While Roger was a man of few words, those who knew him appreciated his quiet strength and fair-mindedness. He loved his family above all earthly things and held a deep faith in God. Known for being more of a private person, he preferred to express himself through action rather than dialogue. His love for family resonated in everything he did, and he took great pride in the legacy he created—one of strength, courage, honor, and love.  An avid enthusiast of farming and ranching, Roger enjoyed working with cattle and spending time outdoors. He was also a skilled welder by trade and had a passion for history, often finding joy in reading about the past. His connection to the land and his hands-on approach to life brought him fulfillment and happiness.

Roger is preceded in death by his parents Clifton and Lela Hatton; granddaughter, Alex Hodges; and siblings, Doris Townley, Donald Hatton, Peggy Lemons, Lyndal Hatton, Candy Archer
