Louise Phillips

Ruby “Louise” Phillips, age 97 passed away on the evening of March 20, 2025. Louise lived a long, healthy life full of many blessings, counted amongst them being her faith, family, and friends. She loved having her whole family gathered around the table for a meal which she prepared, making sure to include everyone’s favorite dish. She remained a country girl her whole life; offering her tender touch to coax a bloom out of every plant, yet determined enough to keep her garden free of any intruding weeds or pests. In her last years, she surrounded herself with the things she loved most, such as paintings of nature, colorful decorations, and most importantly, her cherished family photos that were specifically chosen to ensure nobody was ever left out. She filled her last days enjoying friendships and group activities, bingo, and word search puzzles. Louise had several long friendships that she treasured dearly, provided her with wonderful memories, and were often included in her prayers.

Louise attended Calvary Baptist Church in Kemp and truly loved the friends and fellowship she found there.

Louise was predeceased by her husband, Olden K. Phillips; her parents, Sidney and Zerna Hogue; her sister, Lois; and brother, Grady. 

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Murphy (Joseph, husband); son, Dennis Wilson (Aimee); four grandchildren, Chris Wilson, Donnie Petty, Ericka Rottermond (Jon, husband), and Jennifer Cyrus (Kevin, husband); along with eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, three nieces, and a nephew.

Visitation will be at Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home in Kemp on Monday, March 24th from 6pm to 8pm, service will be at the Calvary Baptist Church in Kemp on Tuesday, March 25th at 10:00 am.
